A Look at Barks' Oil PaintingsNobody's Spending Fool Barks himself said about Nobody's
Spending
Fool in 1981: "I think [it] shows Scrooge's character better than any
other. It shows that he has dug his gold with hard labor and that he's
not going to let any of these fast-buck artists take it away from him.
He's not going to do anything but get his gold safely out and into the
bank. He won't look
to the right or the left. All those lovely babes back there don't move
him
at all. The only important thing is to get that sack of gold to the
bank."

Far Out Safari In the midst of the African veldt, Uncle
Scrooge, with the help of nephews Donald, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, races
against time
to bid on a lucrative gold mine. (...) The image is based on a scene
from
his comic book adventure epic "So far and No Safari." With
Scrooge at
the helm, and the boys keeping a sharp lookout, it's certain that
Glomgold's plot (who's not in the picture - Steve) will come to
naught. Click on the image to enlarge! Rich Finds at Inventory Time Rich Finds at Inventory Timerecreates
the
most famous of Carl Barks' subjects: Scrooge McDuck playing in his
fabled
Money Bin. As Scrooge has long ago forgotten what was where in
his
vast Money Bin, he is taking inventory. And then, in Carl Barks' own
words, "Eureka! A seam of Double Eagles at 60 feet." Surprise Party at Memory Pond In celebration of Donald Duck's 60th
birthday, Barks painted this painting. The special treat by his friends
is Gyro Gearloose's recreation of Donald's first cartoon "The Wise
Little Hen". Oil-paintins on Covers of Disney Comics "The Sheriff of Bullet Valley" was used for Donald Duck Adventures #28 "Klondike Kaper" was used for Uncle Scrooge Adventures #26 |
